When Elite Screens was trying to decide on their next product, they consulted their customers and asked what they were looking for. Among the many requests received, the need for a better whiteboard screen stood out.
Elite went to their engineers in the ProAV division and tasked them with coming up with ideas for new whiteboard projection screens. Among the proposed products were a series of next-generation whiteboard screens utilizing a new nanoparticle coating that ultimately became known as VersaWhite. In addition to the new screen coating, the engineers also proposed making the projection screens lighter without compromising quality.

The WhiteBoardScreen™ VersaWhite dry-erase interactive whiteboard screen combines a whiteboard with a projection screen. In my opinion, it’s a remarkably versatile, even necessary, tool for your meeting room or classroom. In addition, the VersaWhite coating comes in a matte finish, unlike the glossy finish you find on a regular whiteboard.
The WhiteBoardScreen Thin Edge VersaWhite Series screen is available in 97 inches in a 16:9 format, 60 and 79 inches in a 4:3 format, and finally 90 and 113 inches in a 16:10 format. This series is also available in a 5 x 10-foot whiteboard size.
Compared with a typical matte white screen, the VersaWhite optical surface coating provides a noticeable boost in picture quality even when used in a room with uncontrolled ambient light. In addition, Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) screens, like the WhiteBoardScreen Thin Edge VersaWhite Series screens, are perfect for ultra-short-throw, short-throw projectors.
ALR screens, like the WhiteBoardScreen Thin Edge VersaWhite screens, are designed to reject ambient light that might wash out the image. Therefore, VersaWhite screens let you use your projector almost any time of day, even in a room with windows.
PACKAGING AND ASSEMBLY
In my twenty-plus years in the tech industry, I learned that there is not much that I dislike more than having to assemble a projection screen. It could because of my bad back or bad knees, or maybe it’s arthritis in my hands. Whatever it is, I just don’t like putting projection screens together. I’d rather run gaffers tape over wires at a tradeshow.

I was delighted to find out that this dual-purpose screen required no assembly and was relatively quick to unpack and hang on the wall. I did it myself.
Elite ProAV includes a high-density foam eraser, two dry-erase markers, and a tray for mounting below the screen to hold these and many other accessories.
The WhiteBoardScreen™ Thin Edge is a sharp and modern-looking, bordered with an ultra-thin aluminum black frame that protects the edges while enhancing perceived visual contrast. This frame is crucial because it protects the screen from damage, even in high-use environments like the classroom or meeting room. It also features a magnetic surface to allow attachments to the screen as with traditional whiteboard designs.
