Prior to calibration, the Expert Bright Picture mode (which I chose for SDR calibration), the color and CMS performance were just ok because the white balance averaged 8,300K because this pushed all the colors off their targets. Once the white balance was calibrated, all 6 colors improved greatly. Once the projector White Balance was fine-tuned, the CMS tracked very good out of the box. Except for Cyan, most CMS measurements are under 2 without any adjustments. In fact, the HU70LA projector’s REC.709 CMS tracking out of the box was better than many projectors even after the other units are given an hour of CMS adjustment.
