The HU70LA measured 1,291 lumens which is a couple hundred lumens less than LG’s brightness claim. This is still more than enough brightness for viewing HDR and SDR content on a 100” screen in a dark room.
For the rest of the modes, I measured them at mid-zoom, so the iris is closed halfway. This is because it is more common for a projector to be zoomed in a bit rather than installed at full wide angle. Since the HU70LA zoom range was so small (1.25:1) the difference in brightness was minimal.
In Minimum energy saving (full power) lamp mode, most of the LG HU70LA picture modes measured within a couple hundred lumens of each other. The Cinema and Expert modes both measured just over 1,000 lumens at mid-zoom while still delivering a fairly accurate picture quality.
