NEC NP-MC372X Classroom Projector Review – Summary: Highlights, Value Proposition, Pros and Cons

The NEC MC372X is a small footprint 3,700 lumen installation XGA projector with a rated lamp life of 15,000 in ECO mode. The MC372X utilizes a 3LCD imager instead of the single DLP chip found many comparable classroom projectors which improves bright color reproduction.

While the MC372X is a XGA projector it can accept 4K@30P content via its two HDMI inputs for increased clarity and detail. The MC372X has 1.2x zoom lens, dual HDMI inputs and extensive digital keystone correction. It also features USB 2.0A support to power third-party devices and a LAN port for network control and asset management. The optional Wireless Module (NP05LM1) with MultiPresenter allows for up to 16 simultaneous connections.

The NEC MC372X offers high brightness, connectivity in an ultra-quiet, compact, and affordable package. While the MC372X is missing some features found on more expensive business/classroom projectors like lens shift and HDBaseT, at a retail price of just $509, the NEC MC372X is still a great value.

NEC-MC372X is the least expensive projector offered by NEC. At a street price of $509 it offers good performance and lots of features. It is part of NEC's MC series of projectors which are some of the brightest projectors in its class and they offer the longest rated bulb life. Even though it is NEC entry level projector, you can wirelessly project from a laptop or mobile device and MC372X offers both vertical and horizontal keystone correction.

For about $50 more you can step up to the NEC NP-MC382W which is a WXGA projector and I believe the extra resolution would be worth if you plan on viewing a lot of HD video. With the exception of its big brother, the NEC MC382W, no projector in its price point can match it combination or features, 3800 lumens of brightness and 15,000 hours of maintenance free operation.
