JVC Projectors: A Look at "4K" E-shift Pixel Shifting Detail Enhancement Technology

Posted on April 10, 2013 By Phil Jones
Update 2016:  The technology used is referred to as Pixel Shifting.  JVC pioneered this in projectors, but by late 2014 Epson launched their first "pixel shifter."  In 2016 JVC is now up to e-Shift4.  TI (Texas Instruments) is rolling out higher resolution DLP chips for projectors with those chips falling half way in resolution between 1080p (2K) and 4K.  Projectors using that chip will offer pixel shifting as well.  As with the JVCs and the Epson, that's still not true 4K, of course, since pixel shifting uses overlapping pixels.
