Ampula, Inc. Wemax (An Ampula Inc. brand) is a CA-based technology company known for producing a wide range of projectors, from ultra-portable pico-type projectors to home cinema 4K projectors. Ampula is a company that has been on fire recently, introducing projectors for almost every aspect of home or small business life.

Yesterday Wemax announced the Wemax Go Advanced ultra-thin pocket-sized 1080P Laser Projector, a first-of-its-kind, super-portable projector that sports a sleek and solid structure as thin as one inch.

The Go Advanced represents a significant step forward in both performance and design for the Wemax Go series. Wemax has created what it claims is the world's thinnest business-class projector featuring cinema-grade ALPD® Laser Technology. All indications are that the Wemax Go Advanced is very portable with an excellent range of technologies.

Wemax points out that this projector is a purpose-built device providing users with the ability to watch world-class video anytime and anywhere. Wemax sees the Go Advanced as a great companion for both business people and frequent travelers who need a convenient and straightforward projector that delivers top-notch clarity.

The Wemax Go Advanced is fitted with a cinema-grade ALPD® Laser, the first time in the history of projectors that the world-class Phosphor Laser Technology has been miniaturized into a body no bigger than an iPad. The technology enables a projector as compact as the Wemax Go Advanced to be exceptionally energy-efficient while delivering vivid, high-quality images, even in environments where ambient light is present. Dealing with unwanted ambient light sources is a problem for projectors of all types, but consistent lighting is one thing you can't depend on when you move from one environment to another. Projectors with laser light sources can uniquely deal with unwanted ambient light. I look forward to putting Ampula's lighting claims to the test in my lab.

The Wemax Go Advanced claims to deliver 102% of the Rec.709 color gamut, which, if proven true, will be impressive and a win for the Go Advanced target customers.

The Go Advanced comes with a built-in, rechargeable battery designed to play an hour and a half of video at true 1080p (1,920 x 1,080p) FHD resolution, projecting 16.7 million distinct colors. With 600 ANSI lumens of brightness, the Wemax Go Advanced is two times brighter than other projectors of the same size, meaning users can expect a clearer viewing experience in a wide range of lighting conditions.

Built from the ground up to be a smart projector, the Wemax Go Advanced includes features such as autofocus, intelligent obstacle avoidance, and intelligent screen alignment to give users greater convenience and flexibility. Autofocus enables the Wemax Go Advanced to re-adjust the focus within seconds to keep the image sharp. The intelligent obstacle avoidance feature detects objects on the surface to rescale the image. The intelligent screen alignment ensures hassle-free operation and keeps the image within the screen at all times.

The company's patented ALPD® Laser Technology enables the Wemax Go Advanced to consume less power, allowing greater runtime versatility. Adopting the best in projection technology, the Wemax Go Advanced uses a miniaturized version of the same laser technology used by more than 3,000 high-end theaters worldwide, which translates to images with greater light efficiency, brightness, and wider color gamut. This is industry-first, especially in the ultra-portable category.

The Smart OS-powered Wemax Go Advanced also provides an intuitive user interface and easy access to all the mainstream video streaming apps, so users can skip the step of screen mirroring when projecting.
